So I broke down and just bought one....

a new wallet! But not just any new wallet.....a Dave Ramsey Envelope System Wallet!! I read the reviews and decided that this brown and blue snap shut wallet would be the best one for me. I have sewn my current wallet back together in a couple different places(just one I bought from Target about a year ago). I am excited to get this one b/c I really like that it will make it easier for me to do the envelope system. Currently all my cash goes in one slot in my wallet and I have to paper click the money together for each category. I followed a lot of people advice to buy the refill envelopes due to them ripping easily. I will however try to tape or laminate them up as soon as I get them to help make them last longer! This would be part of the organizing obsessed part of me and the 'I want out of debt so bad' part of me too! Organizing the van (or SUV as it may apply to some)....

Here is one of her posts on organizing your vehicle. I just wanted to highlight a few of my favorite posts for my readers!!

Remember the baskets I purchased just the other day? Well I finally came up with a great use for the second basket. I decided to use it for the baby toys in the van and it is just the perfect size. I am so happy because I was using a different basket before but it was just way too small. Don’t these toys look so nicely organized and tidy sitting in their beautiful container like that…..yah right….don’t let me fool you….by the time we get to wherever it is we are going you can find these toys literally thrown all over the vehicle…sigh….but at least clean up is a snap.

Since I was taking a picture in the van anyway I thought why not show you how I organize the area between the driver and passenger seats. We have a mesh netting type thing that came with the van that hooks to the sides of the seats….inside this I have three baskets….two are for CD’s (one for grown up CD’s and one for the kid’s music) and one bigger basket for all the miscellaneous crap essentials that you need while driving.

Here is a close up shot of the CD baskets. They are awesome…I purchased four of them at Zellers many years ago and have never been able to find them since.

Okay so now let me go through the red basket with you because I know you are just dying to know what I keep in there…lol.

1. First in a separate container (inside the red basket) I have a mini hairspray (for last minute emergencies!), hand lotion, bandaids, Nutrigrain bars and a pen.
2. In another separate container I have our sunglass cases, gum and a package of tissue.
3. Then I have a big ol tub of wet wipes because as all moms know you can never have too many of these.
4. Next to the wipes is my coupon case. I like to keep the case in the van so it is one less thing to remember to grab as I’m going out the door. I don’t like to keep it in my purse because I keep my purse to a bare minimum….in fact my purse is just one of those wallets on a string.
5. Finally I have my emergency baby feeding kit which contains a bib, facecloth and spoon and no I haven’t used it yet but I like to be prepared…lol.

The bigger kids have another container for their electronic games and gizmos that slides under the seat in the back. Sorry I forgot to take a picture of that one.
There you have it and as you can see even our van can’t escape my freak like obsession love of baskets!

I really like the Menu Planner Template! For those of you who don't want to have a coupon binder to take with you to the store and need a simpler method- I think the Grocery List Envelope Link will make it really easy and nice for you to keep it all together!  I also love the Family Travel List! I usually end up making one of these every time we travel, but having just one to print out each time would be wonderful!!

Grocery Smarts Shopping lists: a how to guide.

One of the amazing features here at PinchingYourPennies is the great shopping lists. These lists are prepared by smart shopping volunteers. "We scour grocery ads to find the best deals at many of your favorite stores, and match them with available coupons." This saves you so much time in preparing for a great coupon shopping experience.

How to: Grocery Smarts shopping list
Open up your grocery Smart shopping list.

They are organized in a user friendly format.

1) Far left is a "Stock-up Scale:- indicates how good of a sale it is. 3 stars is on OK deal, 5 is the best deal!
2) Next column (second from the left) is the item. This has the item, brand, size.
3) Third column is the advertised sale price
4) Fourth will have any coupons, printable or insert, and any additional information; For instance "Requires in ad coupon". If the coupon is printable you can click on the link, usually labeled "link" or "Group A" etc, and will be taken to the location of the coupon. There is a coupon printer you will need to download in order to print. These downloads are clean and fast. If the coupon is from an insert Here is a great resource to show you how to understand how to find it.
5) Fifth and last column is the price AFTER coupons. This is the price the stock-up scale is taken from.

You can print off the entire list, the Albertsons list is typically 9-11 pages.
OR you can shrink down the list to just the items your interested in. Personally I like printing off the promo items separately so I can work out scenarios.

To Shrink a list (this allows you to choose exactly what items you want to print, its a great way to customize the shopping list)
1) Click on the "Start" button on the top right corner, its just above the grocery smarts logo. That turns everything a light gray color
2) If you click on the large "stock up scale" star it will highlight everything that is a 4 to 5 star deals. And/ Or you can click on the items you want to highlight them.
3) Push shrink, and walla you have a custom shopping list. If you made a mistake, you can click "un-shrink" and fix it but remember to push shrink again before printing.
4) Now click "print." There's a great list you can take to the store.
If you forget these instructions while working on your list they are at the top of the grocerysmarts list.

These shopping lists are a great tool, even better when you know how to use them.

Publix Rebate with Coupon Match Ups

Sarah at FiddledeedeeMom put together a nice little coupon match up for the Kimberly Clark/Unilever Rebate that Frugal Coupon Living posted about HERE.
