My Thursday Publix Run 1/7/10

I did my Publix run today instead of on Sunday so I could get the penny deal and just in case it snowed and I wasn't able to get out for awhile(you know us Georgians freak when any slightly bad weather comes and everything closes!! Hee hee!). So anyways, here is what I did and the great steals I was able to score!

My Steals:
2 Lender's Bagel BOGO $1.99($.99)= $1.99
3 Hunt's Ketchup BOGO $1.75($.88) =$2.55
2 Tostinos Pizza- personal sized $1.25 each= $3.75
2 Nabisco Teddy Grahams   $2.99
Lean Ground Beef $5.23
4 Hebrew National 97% Fat Free Hot dogs BOGO $4.99($2.49)=$9.98
2 Nissin Chow Mein Noodles $.89($.44)=$.89
1 Baker's Joy Spray $2.50
1 4pk of Take n Toss Cups $3.29 (but I don't toss, until broken!)
1 Aveeno Shave Cream $3.19 ( I am all out)
1 First Aid Kit $1.47 (located by pharmacy in travel size section)
2 Midol Max Gelcaps $5.19 each=$10.20
2 Sundown Fish Oil vitamins $4.99 each=$9.98
Bananas 1.60lbs @ $.69= $1.10
2 Egg Beaters $2.79
1 Therma Care Heat Wrap $6.99
1 Publix Tortilla Chips $PENNY DEAL(Reg. $2.59)

-(2) $2/1 Midol 20ct+ printable coupon
-$.75/1 Bakers Joy man. coupon
Total OOP: $36.95($73.26 before coupons)
Total Saved: $59.59(just in coupons $36.31)

Publix advertised the Tostinos Pizzas like they were on sale but if you look at the normal sticker, they aren't. I fed me and the boys on the two I bought and I still have two pieces left, but then I do sometimes eat like a bird! Ha ha! You only get about 4 small sized pieces out of each one, so keep that in mind if you do this deal! Also, Publix in Grayson(Hwy 20 and Cooper) does require that you have the coupon for the Penny Deal. It is located in the AJC Thursday edition. The Grayson location did not have anymore of the Thursday edition when I went tonight, so one of the girls at the Customer Service desk just gave me a printed one. So if went today you should have asked- Ha, I was going to say "If you go ask them for the printed one", but today is over and so is the penny deal. Anyways, the AJC Thursday edition cost $1. So an example of what the Penny Deal would have cost you if you had done it today:
1 Publix Tostidos Chips $2.59
+ $1 AJC Thursday Edition Paper to get $.01 deal coupon
- $2.58 to get the price to a penny with coupon you just bought
= $1.01 for the bag of chips
A pretty good price for a big bag of tortilla chips, but if you really just wanted the item if it was a penny then you are now out of luck! :-( Sad, but true!

Downy Coupons via newsletter

Go HERE to sign up for Downy's newsletter and get $10 in coupons!
There is a PDF floating around with a coupon for a free Downy, but I'm thinking it may have been one someone got by signing up for the newsletter and is passing around. I don't know for sure, but to be safe I am just signing up for the newsletter and will use the coupons they send me. I'm just not sure about PDF file coupons unless I get them straight from the manufacturer.

Coupon Policies and Sales Guidelines

Publix

1. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items to get the sale price **
2. If you do buy 2 items that are B1G1 make sure you use 2 coupons to get the best deal
3. Publix accepts competitors coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon)
4. You can use a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item
5. Most Publix locations double manufacturer coupons that are.50¢ or less **
** #1 and #5 do not apply in FL**

Ingles
1. For every $10 spent before coupons, Ingles will double 3 coupons(ie: $10/3, $20/6, $30/9,etc.)
2. Ingles will double manufacturer coupons, $.50 or less with Ingles Advantage Card
3. No more than 2 identical items are eligible for double coupon savings
4. Ingles will only accept 2 internet coupons per manufacturer product per visit per day.( I have heard other couponers say their store makes exception- like just making them do separate transactions. So I would check with your store to see what they say on this one.)

Kroger
For Kroger as of right now, I don't have a "official policy" nor can I find a guideline from one of the other websites I visit but here is what I do know.
1. They accept printable coupons and I have not found that they have a limit.
2. They double coupons $.50 or less- no limit on the amount of ones they will double.(that I know of)
3. You do not have to buy 2 of the BOGO to get the price.
4. You save more if you have a Kroger plus card as the prices they advertise are with the use of your card.

Wal-Mart:
“Wal-Mart Stores can accept coupons that are available on the Internet for customers to print from their home computers. The following are guidelines for the stores for accepting Internet coupons:
- The coupon should be legible and say “Manufacturer Coupon”. There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer, to ensure the coupon can be processed for payment.
- The coupon should have a scan-able bar code.
- The coupon should have an expiration date.
- The coupon cannot be a photocopy.
- The limit is one coupon per item, per Customer.
- A Salaried Manager can refuse to accept a coupon if it does not meet any or all of these guidelines.”

Target:
“Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping at Target, and we make it easy to use them at our stores. But because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target:
-We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued coupons.
-We’ll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
-We can’t give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item; in that case, we’ll adjust the value of the coupon to equal the price of the item.
-We can’t accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier at the time of sale.”

Rite Aid

"To Our Valued Customers:
Rite Aid gladly accepts manufacturer coupons, Rite Aid coupons and certain Internet/Print at Home coupons in all stores as detailed in these coupon acceptance guidelines:
GUIDELINES:
Multiple Coupons

1. Rite Aid accepts manufacturer coupons and Rite Aid coupons for the purchase of a single item. However, no coupon’s redemption amount can ever exceed the price of the item.
2.Only one manufacturer coupon is accepted for each product, unless coupled with another manufacturer coupon found in a Rite Aid circular.
3. Rite Aid may accept multiple identical coupons for multiple qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers within the store manager’s sole discretion.
4. Rite Aid reserves the right to limit bulk purchases of items if the purchase will deplete our supply for other customers.

Buy One, Get One Free Coupons

1. When items are featured on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the item being purchased.
2. If a customer presents a Buy One Get One Free coupon for the purchase of two items that are on a Buy One Get One Free promotion; we accept the coupon, essentially making both items free.
3. Be advised that the cash register will compute any sales tax due, which sales tax varies and is defined by applicable state law.
Internet/Print at Home Coupons

4. Rite Aid only accepts coupons printed off the internet from manufacturer’s websites, emails and coupon websites up to a maximum of $5.00 off per item as long as the coupon redemption amount never exceeds the price of the item.
5. Rite Aid coupons are not considered internet/print at home coupons, even when they are printed from an internet site or an email, and therefore these coupons only are not subject to the $5.00 limit.

Total Purchase Coupons
1. From time to time, Rite Aid may feature total purchase coupons which discount the total purchase amount based upon meeting specific requirements. For example, $5 off a $25 purchase price threshold coupon.
2. Any manufacturer coupons that may be presented with a total purchase coupon will be deducted after the purchase total has been determined.
3. Rite Aid may accept more than one total purchase coupon as long as each total purchase coupon is used in separate transactions with each transaction meeting the minimum purchase requirements. Rite Aid reserves the right to limit the number of total purchase coupons that may be used by a customer in a single day.

Sale Items

Rite Aid will accept coupons for an item that is on sale.
1. In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Rite Aid will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.
General

2. Coupons and their face value cannot be exchanged for cash
3. Competitor coupons are never accepted at Rite Aid."

To print your own copy of Rite Aid's coupon policy go to http://www.southernsavers.com. Then look under Getting Started Guidelines and click on Rite Aid Guide. It is in a PDF file, so it should be easy to download and print out.

CVS & Walgreens-
These two stores are pretty much the same as all the others (not including Ingles- they are the only ones I've found to be a bit weird).

Rite Aid is a little different as they clearly state that they will accept BOGO Free coupons on BOGO Free deals. Some stores will not do this.
I hope this summary of coupon policies has helped you!
